Rapunzel :(

This is a darkly humorous comic that retells the classic fairy tale “Rapunzel” … but with the original, much grimier Brothers Grimm ending instead of the sanitized Disney version.
Here’s the story it’s showing, panel by panel:

1. Classic start: Rapunzel is locked in a tower with no door. A prince hears her singing, climbs up using her impossibly long hair, and they fall in love.
2. Rapunzel, being naïve, gets pregnant (the Grimm version is surprisingly direct about this).
3. The witch (Mother Gotel) finds out, goes berserk, and cuts off Rapunzel’s hair.
4. The witch then uses the cut hair to lure the prince up the tower one last time.
5. When he reaches the top, the witch says “She’s gone!” and pushes him out the window.
6. The prince falls into thorn bushes below that blind him (he loses both eyes — that’s the actual Grimm detail).
7. Meanwhile the witch banishes Rapunzel into the wilderness, where she gives birth to twins and lives in misery.
8. Years later, blind prince is wandering around, still alive but broken.
9. He hears Rapunzel singing again, they reunite, her tears fall into his eyes and magically restore his sight (yes, that part is still in the original).
10. They live happily ever after… sort of.

The comic then adds a final twist for black comedy:
– Rapunzel, now traumatized and bitter, apparently cuts her hair short again.
– The prince eventually cheats on her or leaves.
– She ends up at his second wedding, pointing at the bride while holding up her old wanted-poster-style portrait with long hair (“That’s the real me you fell in love with!”).
– Final panel: Rapunzel crying alone with the dove, completely defeated.
So it’s basically “Rapunzel, but make it the original brutal Grimm version + a lifetime of therapy bills and a bad divorce.” Very dark Eastern-European/Internet humor style.
