You and me….we complement each other ๐

This is a complete short vertical webcomic story called “Shade of Memories” by Darkbox (art by Tomato, story by KS), published on the platform ComicVid. It’s a classic tear-jerker romance/tragedy with a twist ending.
Full Story Summary / Explanation (in order):
A talented young female pianist (the girl with long brown hair and flower hair clips) and a male pianist meet as rivals in the 2019 National Youth Piano Competition Grand Finals. They are both extremely skilled and competitive, but over time (shown in flashbacks and memories), they fall deeply in love and start dating. They dream of performing together, going to concerts, and building a future centered around music.
One day, the couple is riding a double-decker bus together (likely on their way to practice or a performance). The bus driver is drunk (shown holding a bottle), loses control, swerves, and crashes violently into a truck. The crash is catastrophic.
Both of them are gravely injured and rushed to the hospital.
The boy loses one arm and is confined to a wheelchair.
The girl suffers severe brain damage and falls into a coma.
When the girl finally wakes up after a long time, she has complete amnesia. She doesnโt recognize her boyfriend at all. She screams and panics when she sees this “stranger” in her hospital room, crying “Who are you?!” while her parents try to calm her. The boy, sitting broken in his wheelchair beside her bed, can only look down in silent devastation.
The title “Shade of Memories” and the tagline “some memories can never be replaced” hit hard at the end: their beautiful shared past, their love, their dreams, everything is now just a one-sided “shade” (ghost) of memory that only he still carries. She has lost it all forever.
It’s an extremely sad story about how a single moment (a drunk driver) can destroy two brilliant young lives and erase an entire love story from one person’s mind, leaving the other to grieve alone for something that, to his partner, never even existed anymore.
Classic tragic romance bait designed to make readers cry in under 2 minutes. Very effective.
