GHOST

This is a classic short Japanese horror webcomic (yonkoma-style) that plays on the famous “Sadako/Samara” trope from The Ring (the long-haired girl crawling ghost from the TV).
Here’s what happens step by step:
A girl (presumably a manga artist or illustrator) is working late at night in her room, drawing.
She feels like someone is watching her. She turns around → nothing.
She keeps feeling it. Turns again → still nothing. She starts getting nervous.
She tries to focus on work again, but now she’s sweating and anxious.
Suddenly she hears a noise, turns around… and sees the classic long-black-haired ghost girl (Sadako) slowly peeking from behind the door, just like in the movies.
The artist completely freaks out, jumps up in terror… and in her panic she accidentally stabs herself in the neck with the pencil she was holding.
She instantly dies (shown comically with her skeleton flying out of her body).
The “ghost” (Sadako) is left standing there in shock and horror, realizing she just accidentally scared someone to death just by peeking in.
Final panel (bonus): Sadako herself is now the one screaming in panic, wrapped in a towel, clearly terrified that she caused someone’s death without meaning to.
The punchline/twist: The scary ghost everyone is afraid of is actually terrified of her own reputation and didn’t mean to kill anyone; the girl died from her own overreaction.
It’s a very dark but funny subversion of the typical Japanese ghost-horror cliché. Very popular format in the 2000s–2010s on Japanese image boards.
